Hello Parents and Students!
I hope everyone is having a fantastic summer! I just wanted to update you on some fun and interesting websites you can utilize this summer. The websites I am going to share with you today are Kidtopia, Primary Games, and PebbleGo.
Kidtopia: Kidtopia is kid-friendly search engine that is powered by Google. Kids can click on a topic area to search and find information, or they are able to type in the search bar to find what they looking for. If they click on a topic, they can then click on another subtopic within the main topic. When they search a topic on their own, it will pop up “ads” for the first 2 or 3 websites, but scroll right past those and it will give you kid friendly websites to use to learn more about their specific topic.
Primary Games: Primary Games is a website that has TONS of games for kids to play. They can be fun puzzles or arcade games, or they can choose to focus on a reading or math game to help them review their reading and math skills this summer.
PebbleGo: PebbleGo is a website that many of your students may be familiar with. It is one they have seen and used in the library throughout the school year. It is a great website for them to read about animals, science, biographies, social studies, and dinosaurs. They can choose one of the topics mentioned and then pick a subtopic within each category. No worries if your child has a little difficulty reading. PebbleGo has a “read to me” feature. If they click on the speakers located at the top of each page, it will read it for them and highlight the words as it reads. Kids love this website, and they love reading and learning new things! They will be filled with new facts to share with you after visiting PebbleGo!
I hope you will visit one of these websites this summer. Enjoy the rest of your summer! See you in August.
Love, Ms. Wilmoth
